Emploi anaphorique des determinants definis en français langue etrangere - le cas des apprenants de St. Dominic Senior High Technical School

Abstract

This research work aims at finding lasting solutions to some difficulties in the use of definite determiners as anaphora in the teaching and learning of French as a foreign language in Ghana. A difficulty of this nature cannot be over emphasized as it confuses the students because of the meaning it connotes in the language. The problem at hand is that most students are not able to utilize anaphora either in context or in memory in relation to the changes in meaning depending on the style of writing. Also, the students are not able to understand the meaning of literary text in simple French language due to lack of understanding of anaphoric expressions that lay emphasis on already mentioned items in the text or surrounding a reference in context or in a situation. The research has carried us through different stages like: test and questionnaire for students, interview for teachers, their profiles (linguistics, personal and professional), exercises to mention a few. The results suggested to us that, the students undergo series of practice and exercises to help them overcome the situation.
