| dc.description.abstract | This study examined the effects of transfer of L1-L2 among students of Akatsi No.2 JHS. The target population was 75 students and 5 teachers. The study employed a qualitative approach through observation, interview and questionnaire. Data collected was analyzed using simple frequency tables and figures. The findings suggest that, students transfer knowledge from their L1 thus, Ewe to L2, which is English. It was realized that certain factors aid that transfer. Though transfer was not perfect, it seems to influence the maintenance of the mother tongue and the acquisition of the second languages among learners. | en_US |
