dc.description A Project Report in the Department of Educational Leadership, Faculty of Education and Communication Sciences, submitted to the School of Graduate Studies, University of Education, Winneba, in partial fulfilment of the requirements for award of the Master of Arts (Educational Leadership) degree AUGUST, 2016 en_US
dc.description.abstract The study was to find out the causes of school dropout among girls in the Wa Municipality. The study was a purely quantitative study relying on the cross-sectional survey design. Questionnaire was the instrument used for the data collection. There were 360 respondents and data was analysed using SPSS. The study found that school dropout among the girls was of great concern. School dropout affected the Municipality in the sense it brought about teenage pregnancy, stealing, prostitution, among others. Based on the findings, the study recommended among other things that both the school and the community should endeavour to work together so that children could be helped with financial assistance to continue schooling. Again the study recommended that the Municipal assembly in conjunction with community leaders need to make by-laws to ensure that children go to school and at least complete the basic level which is free now. en_US
