dc.description.abstract The purpose of this research is to find out the need for improvisation and identify the problem associated with the teaching of physical education especially in the face of dwindling resource mobilization in terms of equipment. The descriptive survey research method was used. Twenty-five (25) teachers in both Nabulo and Wallembelle circuits were randomly selected as sample for the study. A structured questionnaire which was face validated by my supervisor ( Dr J. A. Baba ) was used to gather the data. The data was analyzed using frequency tables and percentages. Based on the data analysis and discussion, it was realized that improvisation of equipment and is very necessary because of the increasing number of enrolment figures of students in rural schools. It was recommended among others that, teachers in the field of physical education and sports should be encouraged to improvise equipment for use in teaching physical education using local raw materials so that they can improve upon the teaching and learning of physical education. This research presents the need for improvisation of equipment and as a solution for the teaching of practical physical education and sports in the face of lack of or inadequate funds for schools. en_US
