Abstract:
The purpose of this study was to investigate the amount of teacher feedback and its influence on
students skill acquisition with regards to Kwahu East and South Districts in the Eastern Region.
Secondly, this was to provide an intervention on feedback to ascertain improvement in amount of
feedback given by the teachers.
Purposive sampling was used to select four P.E. teachers. A simple random sampling was used to
choose a sample for students population numbered 160, 40 from each school.
A self designed event recording tool and event recording technique for the coding of the various
categories of teacher feedback was used for the study. The data were analyzed using descriptive
statistics of frequency, percentages, graphs and tables.
The study revealed low amount of feedbacks given by teachers to students showing less than
50% mark in post test. It is recommended that Ghana Education Service should organize more
practical in service training for physical education teachers to give more feedback.
