dc.description.abstract The culture medium of the fungus Xylaria badia was examined for metabolites. Two cyclic compounds were characterised after isolation and purification. The two compounds are 5-Hydroxy-4-methoxy-6-methyl-7-oxa- bicyclo[4,1,0]hept3-en-2-one and 2-(hydroxymethyl)-6-[(8-hydroxy-l-naphthyl)oxy] tetrahydro2H-pyran-3,4,5-triol. This is the first report of the isolation of these compounds from the fungus Xylaria badia. ? Research India Publications. en_US
